The Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education has approved the appointment of Jeff Bailey as head football coach and director of strength and conditioning at Beverly Hills High School, officials announced on Feb. 24.
Bailey brings more than 30 years of coaching experience in Southern California, with a career record that includes 179 victories, 18 playoff appearances and 11 league championships. District officials said he has never lost a championship final.
A former UCLA football player, Bailey is known for building structured athletic programs and emphasizing discipline and preparation. In addition to leading the football team, he will oversee strength and conditioning programming for student-athletes across campus.
Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss said the hire reflects the district’s commitment to strengthening its athletic programs.
“Coach Bailey’s track record speaks for itself,” Cherniss said. “He builds cultures rooted in discipline, preparation and integrity, and his leadership will elevate our football program and support every athletic team on our campus.”
Board of Education President Judith Manouchehri said the appointment represents a long-term investment in student-athletes. “This hire reflects our commitment to excellence in academics and athletics,” Manouchehri said. “We believe our students will benefit from Coach Bailey’s experience and leadership.”
Bailey said his focus extends beyond game results.
“When a student puts on a jersey, it represents their teammates, their family, their school and their community,” he said. “We are going to build a disciplined, united program that this community can stand behind.”
District officials said Bailey’s leadership is expected to shape athletic development at Beverly Hills High School, with an emphasis on preparation, accountability and long-term growth across sports programs.
