Beverly Hills resident Andy Licht formally began his campaign for City Council this week with a petition signing event at Layla’s Bagels, where supporters gathered to help launch his bid for elected office. The event marked Licht’s first official step toward the June 2026 municipal election, as he also filed nomination papers with the City Clerk.
Approximately 75 friends, neighbors, and supporters attended the gathering, signaling early enthusiasm for Licht’s candidacy. The event brought together longtime community members and supporters, with Licht joined by his wife, Lisa, and their son, Joey.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the support I felt today,” Licht said. “I’m running because I want Beverly Hills to be the safest city in the country, while preserving the quality of life and community character that make it so special.”
Licht said his campaign will center on public safety, responsible governance, and maintaining the community character that has long defined Beverly Hills. Supporters at the event described his candidacy as rooted in neighborhood concerns and a desire for practical, community-focused leadership at City Hall.
The petition signing event and filing of nomination papers formally launches Licht’s campaign as the field for the 2026 Beverly Hills City Council race begins to take shape. Additional community events and outreach efforts are expected in the coming weeks as candidates begin introducing themselves to voters across the city.
