Beverly Hills High School hosted its second annual Job Fair on February 9 in the campus Media Center, bringing together students in grades 9 through 12 with professionals from across a wide range of industries for an afternoon of career exploration and mentorship.
The event drew business owners, CEOs, nonprofit leaders, public service professionals, and Beverly Hills High School alumni, reflecting a community-wide effort to invest in the professional development of local students. Representatives from organizations including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, The Beverly Hilton, The Boys & Girls Club, the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, The Maybourne Hotel, Parakeet Cafe, AYSO Beverly Hills, V&A Law Firm, Rofeim Law, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister Co., Kadima Security, and others met directly with students to discuss career pathways, internships, and workforce readiness.
Students arrived dressed in business casual attire, resumes in hand, and engaged in one-on-one conversations with employers. Several participants took part in real-time interview-style discussions, gaining firsthand insight into professional expectations, communication skills, and workplace culture.
“Experiences like this cannot be replicated in a classroom,” said BHUSD Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss. “Interview skills, professional presence, and the ability to communicate with confidence are developed through authentic interaction. When our community comes together to mentor, guide, and open doors for our students, it strengthens not only their future but the future of Beverly Hills as a whole.”
The Job Fair was coordinated by Career Education Coordinator Cindy Dubin and the Beverly Hills High School Career Center as part of the school’s broader effort to connect classroom learning with real-world opportunity. Local business Parakeet Cafe provided refreshments for students and participating professionals.
“I am grateful for our generous business community leaders who enrich our career education with invaluable advice and real-world experiences that inspire and inform our eager students,” Dubin said.
District leaders said the event reflects the Beverly Hills Unified School District’s emphasis on preparing students for life beyond graduation by pairing academic instruction with practical experience. School officials described the Job Fair as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen career readiness, community partnership, and postsecondary planning for BHHS students.
