Beverly Hills High School music director Justin Klotzle will represent Beverly Hills Unified School District in the Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year competition after being named the district’s 2025 honoree.
Klotzle, who directs both the instrumental and vocal music programs and serves as a campus coach for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, was nominated by Beverly Hills High principal Jarrod Chin and chosen through the district’s annual selection process.
He was formally recognized September 19 at the Los Angeles County Office of Education’s Teachers of the Year reception held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel alongside dozens of top educators from across the county.
Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss praised Klotzle’s wide-ranging influence on students and staff.
“Mr. Klotzle’s recognition reflects the incredible impact he has on our students, our staff, and our school culture,” Cherniss said. “He is a visionary educator, an inspiring leader, and a true example of educational excellence in action.”
The Beverly Hills Unified Board of Education plans to honor Klotzle at its regular meeting Tuesday, September 30.
The county-level competition highlights teachers who demonstrate outstanding instruction, innovation, and leadership. Winners advance to the California Teacher of the Year program.
