Three Beverly Hills students were recognized for their winning posters in a city contest promoting water conservation, held in partnership with the Metropolitan Water District.

The Beverly Hills City Council celebrated three young artists during its August 5, 2025, special study session, recognizing their winning entries in the WaterWise Student Poster Contest, a collaboration with the Metropolitan Water District to promote water conservation.

The contest invited students from grades K-12, living or attending school in Beverly Hills, to create posters interpreting the theme "Being Water Wise Is." The council honored Ava from Horace Mann Elementary School, Ella Lee from seventh grade at a local middle school, and Jessica from ninth grade at Beverly Hills High School.

"The city of Beverly Hills held a student poster art contest in participation with the Metropolitan Water District to promote the importance of water conservation, water awareness, and water efficiency." said Mayor Nazarian, welcoming the students.

Each student received a certificate and an artist gift box set for their submissions, which depicted personal interpretations of water conservation. The posters are now on display in the city hall lobby, and the submissions have been sent to the Metropolitan Water District for consideration in next year’s calendar.

The recognition ceremony underscored the city’s commitment to environmental education, engaging young residents in efforts to raise awareness about sustainable water use. Council members expressed delight in the students’ creativity, encouraging them to continue their artistic and environmental advocacy.

This initiative reflects Beverly Hills’ broader efforts to foster community involvement in conservation, leveraging student voices to highlight the critical importance of water efficiency in Southern California.
