The City of Beverly Hills has selected Chris Paulson to serve as its new Assistant Director of Community Services, city officials announced this month.
Paulson currently serves as Deputy Director of Community Services and brings more than 17 years of municipal government experience to the role. As assistant director, he will directly oversee the city’s Arts and Culture Division and Adult Recreation Division.
Community Services Director Stephanie Harris praised Paulson’s leadership and breadth of experience within the department.
“He has successfully managed various divisions over the last year, including the Park Ranger program, Administrative Support, Arts and Culture, and most recently the Youth Recreation division,” Harris said. “I am confident his leadership will continue to be an asset to the department and our City.”
Paulson joined the City of Beverly Hills in 2021 after serving with the City of Claremont, where he held the dual roles of Assistant City Manager and Community Services Director. Prior to his tenure in Claremont, he spent a decade with the City of Alhambra in multiple municipal roles.
Paulson is scheduled to assume his new position on February 7, 2026. The timing allows for a transition period ahead of the retirement of current Assistant Director Patty Acuna, who is expected to retire in March.
