Beverly Hills will conduct a targeted evacuation drill this Sunday in the Trousdale Estates area, giving residents and first responders the chance to rehearse wildfire evacuation procedures in real time.
The exercise focuses on 68 homes located in the city’s High Fire Severity Zone. Beginning at 1:30 p.m. on November 9, emergency sirens will sound in Trousdale and across the city as part of the exercise. Residents who are participating will collect their go bag supplies and personal items, then follow designated evacuation routes to Will Rogers Park.
Police and Fire Department personnel will be stationed throughout the area to guide traffic and assist residents during the drill. Once at the park, participants will receive emergency preparedness information and have an opportunity to ask questions about evacuation protocols.
City officials say the drill is intended to test communication systems, measure how quickly residents can mobilize, and identify any gaps in wildfire response planning. Trousdale, with its steep terrain and narrow roads, remains one of the city’s highest-risk areas during a fast-moving fire.
