BHHS Alumni Return for First Back to Beverly Campus Tour

Ten members of Beverly Hills High School's Class of 1974 returned to their former campus together September 4, joining fellow graduates for the inaugural Back to Beverly tour. According to a BHUSD press release, more than 20 alumni attended, representing classes from 1968 through 2007.

The Beverly Hills Unified School District hosted the gathering as part of a Board Presidential Initiative launched by Board of Education President Judith Manouchehri, herself a BHHS graduate and former Associated Student Body president.

The tour brought alumni through new and modernized facilities, including the K.L. Peters Auditorium, Salter Family Theatre, Grand Lawn, classrooms, Command Center and athletic facilities. Graduates also revisited familiar parts of campus and stopped at the BHHS Alumni Hall of Fame, which recognizes former students' accomplishments.

"This is exactly what we hoped Back to Beverly would be," Manouchehri said. "Watching alumni walk through campus, share their memories, and experience everything that is new at Beverly was incredibly special. No matter how much this campus changes, there is a connection to Beverly that stays with you. We want our alumni to know they will always have a place here."

Alongside the facilities tour, participants learned about academic programs and career pathways available to current students. The visit gave graduates from nearly four decades of classes an opportunity to see changes in the school while sharing memories of their own years at Beverly.

BHUSD intends for the program to extend beyond campus tours. The district hopes to develop opportunities for alumni to participate in mentorship, career experiences and classroom visits, connecting their professional and personal experience with the next generation of students.

According to the district, additional Back to Beverly tours are scheduled throughout the year, with more dates to be announced. Alumni can find registration information at bhusd.org/backtobeverly.
