BHHS Career Academy Welcomes Record 52 Students

Beverly Hills High School's Career Academy has begun its fourth year with 52 students, its largest group yet, according to the Beverly Hills Unified School District. The first hotel rotation took place September 16 at six Beverly Hills properties.

Students visited The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Wilshire, L'Ermitage Beverly Hills, The Maybourne Beverly Hills, The Peninsula Beverly Hills and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. The rotations introduce them to work across hotel departments, including finance, engineering, culinary arts, marketing, communications, operations and events.

The district reported 44 students in the 2025 academy. This year's group is eight students larger.

"Career Academy turns those community relationships into opportunities our students could not experience in a traditional classroom," Board of Education President Judy Manouchehri said in the district's September 23 release. "Our hotel partners are opening doors, sharing their expertise, and showing our students firsthand what excellence looks like."

Hotel partners also visit the BHHS campus each month for workshops on career readiness, including résumé writing and building a professional brand. The district said those sessions are intended to prepare students for college and job interviews.

"When they can speak directly with professionals, walk through these environments and understand how different departments work together, careers become tangible," said Cindy Dubin, BHUSD career education coordinator. "Students begin to see possibilities for themselves."

The six hotels are continuing their partnerships with the academy this school year, according to the district.
