BHUSD President Manouchehri Launches 'Back to Beverly' to Reconnect Alumni

Beverly Hills High School alumni are being invited back to campus through a new Board Presidential Initiative aimed at reconnecting generations of Normans with a school that has undergone major changes in recent years.

Board of Education President Judith Manouchehri, a 1998 Beverly Hills High School graduate, has launched "Back to Beverly," which will offer alumni opportunities on select dates to tour the campus, revisit familiar locations and see recently completed facilities.

The initiative follows last year's "Mrs. Marcus Meets," created by then-Board President Rachelle Marcus. That video series focused on BHUSD educators and employees whose work supports students across the district.

This year's program shifts the focus to alumni and the role they can play in the future of BHHS.

"Back to Beverly is an opportunity for our alumni to come home, revisit those memories and see the extraordinary spaces that are now creating new memories for today's students," Manouchehri said.

The invitation comes during a period of significant campus modernization. The historic K.L. Peters Auditorium reopened this year after nearly a decade, joining the renovated Salter Family Theatre. BHHS has also opened six new tennis courts, a new softball field and new classroom and performance facilities in Buildings B3 and B4.

The Grand Lawn also reopened in May following years of construction, restoring one of the school's best-known gathering spaces for students and community events.

BHUSD hopes the program will grow beyond campus tours. The District envisions alumni eventually participating in mentorship, career programs, classroom visits and other opportunities connecting graduates with current students.

That type of alumni involvement already has a foundation at BHHS. More than 40 alumni returned to campus for Career Day earlier this year, joining more than 100 professionals who spoke with students about careers and life after graduation.
