Mathematics, science and graduation moved into California's highest performance tier, while all four comprehensive campuses earned Blue in English, math and science.

Beverly Hills Unified School District earned California's highest Dashboard rating in five areas in the state's Oct. 15 release, including English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science. Graduation Rate and English Learner Progress also received Blue, the top performance level.

Seven of the district's eight color-rated indicators placed in the top two performance levels. Mathematics and Science advanced from Green to Blue compared with 2025, while Graduation Rate rose from Yellow to Blue. English Language Arts and English Learner Progress maintained Blue. College/Career and Suspension Rate remained Green, and Chronic Absenteeism remained Yellow.

The results extended across campuses. El Rodeo Elementary, Horace Mann Elementary, Beverly Vista Middle School and Beverly Hills High School each received Blue in all three academic subjects on the 2026 California School Dashboard.

Board of Education President Judy Manouchehri welcomed the results in the district's announcement.

BHUSD is so back!

Manouchehri credited students, educators and district leadership for the improvement.

The district turnaround is already here, and our students' achievements prove it. These results reflect the dedication of our teachers, the hard work of our students, and the bold leadership decisions that are moving our schools forward.

The Dashboard recorded a 20-point improvement in Mathematics and a 12.5-point improvement in English Language Arts. Those figures measure changes in average test performance relative to the proficiency threshold. Dashboard colors combine current performance with change from the previous year.

The separate California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress results measure the share of tested students reaching each achievement level. In 2026, the top two levels are labeled Proficient and Advanced. The district's percentage reaching those levels increased in every academic subject compared with 2025.

Science posted the largest districtwide gain, rising 9.05 percentage points, from 47.39% to 56.44%. Mathematics increased 5.92 percentage points, from 62.80% to 68.72%, while English Language Arts rose 4.33 percentage points, from 71.11% to 75.44%.

BHUSD's year-over-year percentage-point gains exceeded those of both Culver City Unified and Santa Monica-Malibu Unified in all three subjects. Culver City's increases were 3.00 points in English Language Arts, 2.93 in Mathematics and 6.50 in Science. Santa Monica-Malibu's increases were 1.21 points in English Language Arts, 1.35 in Mathematics and 3.39 in Science.
