Clayton Moshe Saunders has entered the Beverly Hills City Council race with a platform centered on public safety, fighting antisemitism, supporting small businesses and preserving the city’s character.

Saunders, who describes himself as an entrepreneur, political leader and national security expert, says his background includes advising policymakers on public safety and global security issues.

His campaign biography states that he was raised in a military family as the son of a retired U.S. Army colonel and has built a career centered on service, discipline, national security and democratic values. The announcement also says he has founded and led multiple companies in government contracting, hospitality and international consulting.

Saunders said public safety will be the central focus of his campaign, particularly as Beverly Hills prepares for the arrival of the Metro subway extension. His platform calls for dedicated law enforcement officers at each Beverly Hills station, expanded security cameras and stronger security measures around schools and temples.

His campaign also emphasizes opposition to antisemitism and hate, as well as support for Jewish culture, democratic values and charitable education initiatives. The announcement states that Saunders recently visited Israel and the Gaza Strip.

In addition to public safety, Saunders said he wants to preserve Beverly Hills’ character by enforcing strict building height limits and supporting small businesses. His campaign also says he would decline campaign funds and City Council financial benefits if elected.

“Public safety is my top priority, and with the arrival of the Metro extension, I will support dedicated law enforcement officers at every Beverly Hills station, expanded security cameras, and stronger security around schools and temples. Having converted to Judaism, I am firmly committed to standing against antisemitism and all forms of hate. Beverly Hills is one of the most recognized cities in the world, and I will protect its character by enforcing strict building height limits, supporting small businesses, and serving the community voluntarily without accepting campaign funds or City Council financial benefits.”

Saunders enters the race presenting a platform centered on security, civic service and what his campaign describes as a commitment to protecting the values and character of Beverly Hills.
