The Treasurer is responsible for safeguarding the City's investments. As the City's Treasurer I will continue in that tradition of integrity, transparency, and financial stability. And I will not bow to special interests, especially developers. As your Treasurer I helped solve the City's $370 million pension deficit, oversee the City's $600 million investment portfolio, adopted Anti-Boycott and ESG investment practices, and revamped the Treasurer's reports to make them more readable and useful, and have worked to help implement zero-based budgeting. I've been the past Chair of the Planning and Public Works Commissions, president of the Beverly Hills Bar, Cub-Scout Leader - BH Troop 100, Board of Temple Emanuel, BHHS Class of 1969 (as our sons), my wife Francine of 48 years and I both work in Beverly Hills. Simply put: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is no need for a change. The City Treasurer's office is too important - it should not be used as a "stepping-stone."
