I am running for City Council because Beverly Hills deserves a government as exceptional as our community. My first act as your council member will be introducing a resolution creating Beverly Hills' first Charter Study Commission in 50 years. Our city charter is 110 years old, written when we had 500 residents. Today we have 33,000, yet we operate under the same outdated framework. The pandemic exposed how badly our governance structure handles modern challenges. Sacramento imposes mandates we lack the charter authority to resist. Permitting frustrates businesses. Residents feel unheard. The Commission will include former elected officials, business leaders, renters, homeowners, legal experts, and representatives of every generation. They will hold listening sessions in all 15 precincts, study peer cities, and deliver recommendations that put residents in charge of how this city works. This is not change for the sake of change. It is about restoring responsive, efficient government with modern tools to deliver results. My opponents will manage the same broken system. I will fix the foundation first, then spend three years building on it. Beverly Hills deserves a government built for its next century. I am ready to build it.
