My Platform: Improved Academics, Accountability and Courage to help BHUSD regain national standing as Blue Ribbon Schools. "Time for a change and to have the courage to make the change" As a mother of two adult children and two current BHUSD students, I am well aware of BHUSD's strengths and weaknesses. My passion runs deep for all of our students' Education, Safety and Growth. I am a Beverly Hills business owner, licensed Contractor, wife and mother of four. As my eldest daughter is 35, I have seen many exceptional standards of teaching and have come to know what works and what does not. A central portion of my platform is ensuring educational accountability. Proficiency levels are directly related to teacher performance. Student's grades should be a reflection of their teacher's success. Chronic absenteeism and physical altercations represent the serious behavioral challenges we are facing. Our District budget is 90 million dollars and we do not have any Blue Ribbon schools to show for it. - I will advocate for students' interest first. - I will advocate for increased and continued accountability. - I will advocate for strong communication between all stakeholders. - I will advocate for continued technological and security advancement. - I will advocate for every school to attain National Blue Ribbon status. - I will advocate for sufficient academic challenges in the classroom. Once this happens, student engagement rises. - I will advocate with the courage required. - I will advocate for a transparency so as to prioritize efficiently. - I will advocate for "0" tolerance for bullying, harassment or discrimination based on a protected class. Specifically, I will advocate for diversity training geared against expression of hate and antisemitism, including district-wide training and education on the subject. 82 - I will advocate that everyone in the district prioritize our students first. All teachers will have a rating system with accountability. It would be an honor and privilege to advocate for the BHUSD community. I pledge to impart my learned knowledge and experience and transform the district into a National Blue Ribbon awardee. I respectfully request your vote to make the vision come to life.
