A fire was reported at an outbuilding located on the back side of El Rodeo Elementary School, according to a joint communication from the City of Beverly Hills and the Beverly Hills Unified School District.
The outbuilding supplies power to the school campus. Beverly Hills Fire Department crews responded immediately and contained the incident.
District officials confirmed that the campus was unoccupied at the time of the fire, as Beverly Hills Unified School District is currently on winter break. No students or staff were present, and no injuries were reported.
Damage from the fire was described as minimal and largely limited to the outdoor area surrounding the structure.
As a precautionary measure, Southern California Edison was dispatched to the scene and temporarily shut down power to nearby homes while crews assessed the damage and conducted repairs.
Officials did not indicate any ongoing safety concerns at the campus and said further updates would be provided if necessary.
