Road closures and traffic restrictions will take effect across Beverly Hills in early January as the city prepares for the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards, scheduled for Sunday, January 11, at the Beverly Hilton.
City officials announced that partial lane reductions will begin as early as January 2, with full street closures and parking restrictions intensifying in the days leading up to the awards ceremony. Motorists and residents are advised to plan ahead and use alternate east–west routes, including South Santa Monica Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard, Pico Boulevard, and Sunset Boulevard.
North Santa Monica Boulevard will experience significant impacts. Westbound lanes between Wilshire Boulevard and Century Park East will be fully closed from 9 p.m. Friday, January 9, through 6 a.m. Monday, January 12. Eastbound lanes along the same stretch will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10, and will reopen at 6 a.m. Monday, January 12. South Santa Monica Boulevard will remain open in both directions.
Wilshire Boulevard will also see extended disruptions. Lane reductions in both directions will begin at 6 a.m. Friday, January 2, and continue through 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 14. A full closure of Wilshire Boulevard between Comstock Avenue and North Santa Monica Boulevard is scheduled from 10 p.m. Saturday, January 10, until 6 a.m. Monday, January 12.
In addition, overnight eastbound closures of Wilshire Boulevard between Comstock Avenue and North Santa Monica Boulevard are planned from 10 p.m. Thursday, January 1, to 6 a.m. Friday, January 2, and again from Monday night, January 12, through Tuesday morning, January 13.
Several residential streets near the Beverly Hilton will be subject to limited access, with local access only for residents. These include Whittier Drive, Carmelita Avenue, Elevado Avenue, Lomitas Avenue, Trenton Drive, and adjacent alleys. Restrictions will be in place from 10 p.m. Saturday, January 10, through 6 a.m. Monday, January 12.
Parking will be fully restricted, with no exceptions, from 6 a.m. Sunday, January 11, until 6 a.m. Monday, January 12, on multiple streets surrounding the venue, including portions of Whittier Drive, Carmelita Avenue, Elevado Avenue, Trenton Drive, Walden Drive, and Lomitas Avenue.
Residents without permit parking may request a temporary parking exemption by contacting the City’s Parking Exemption Line at (310) 285-2548 or submitting a request online through the city’s parking exemption portal.
