Journalist and filmmaker Leslie Gelrubin Benitah will bring her work preserving Holocaust survivor testimony to Beverly Hills High School on Monday, November 9, for a documentary screening and conversation with a local survivor.

The program, titled "The Last Ones: A Conversation and Screening," begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Salter Family Theater, 241 S. Moreno Drive. Tickets cost $10 and go on sale October 5, according to the event announcement.

The evening will feature a screening of The Last Ones of Auschwitz, followed by Benitah's conversation with a local Holocaust survivor. The announcement does not identify the survivor.

Benitah is the founder of The Last Ones Foundation, a nonprofit that records and shares Holocaust survivors' accounts through documentary films, books and classroom resources. According to the foundation, its archive includes the stories of more than 100 survivors across Europe, North America, Israel and South America, with testimony recorded in English, French and Spanish.

The foundation describes The Last Ones of Auschwitz as a 70-minute documentary bringing together testimony from 28 surviving witnesses of Auschwitz. Released to mark the 80th anniversary of the camp's liberation, the film follows their accounts of arrest, deportation and survival, along with their reflections on the present.

For Benitah, the work also has a family connection. The granddaughter of four Holocaust survivors, she has focused her filmmaking and educational work on keeping firsthand accounts available to younger generations.

The Beverly Hills program is presented in partnership with the Beverly Hills Unified School District, Holocaust Museum Los Angeles and The Last Ones Foundation. The screening and discussion will give attendees an opportunity to hear recorded testimony alongside a survivor's firsthand account.

Tickets become available Monday, October 5, ahead of the November 9 event.
