Homeless Attacker Killed After Stabbing, Biting Beverly Hills Resident

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, officers were called at approximately 11:39 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to an alley in the 400 block of North Palm Drive following a report of an altercation involving two men.

Officers found one man suffering from a wound to his neck and rendered aid before Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he later died. BHPD confirmed that the other man involved was a Beverly Hills resident who was also injured and transported to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Graphic video from the scene provides additional details about the resident's injuries. As Beverly Hills police officers detain him, the resident can be heard telling officers, "I got a stab wound. Left side. Stomach."

Moments later, while officers are securing his hands, the resident tells them, "My right index finger is bit, sir." An officer asks, "Your finger is bitten?" The resident responds, "Yes, sir."

The footage, credited on social media to @brigettebarbie and reposted by Street People of Beverly Hills, was accompanied by a statement saying the resident had been stabbed, fought back and that the other man did not survive.

The video also captures the resident speaking with officers about the other man and saying he had been going through trash before the confrontation.

Social media commentator Lizzy Benichou separately reported that a couple was attacked by a homeless man armed with a knife. Benichou said the resident was stabbed and bitten on his index finger before fighting back with a knife he was carrying, which she characterized as self-defense.

BHPD has confirmed that the second man later died from his injuries, but has not publicly confirmed who initiated the confrontation, whether the deceased man was homeless, whether he was armed or whether investigators have determined that the resident acted in self-defense. Police have also not publicly identified the man who died.

Detectives said they are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and believe it was an isolated occurrence with no other parties involved.

"Our officers responded quickly to this incident and immediately rendered aid to both individuals," Police Chief Max Subin said. "Our detectives are conducting a thorough and diligent investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. The Beverly Hills Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and holding those responsible for violence accountable."
