With heartfelt tributes and warm fellowship, BHUSD recognized its 2025 retirees for their decades of dedication, exemplary service, and enduring impact on generations of students.

In a moving tribute to lifelong service and unwavering commitment, the Beverly Hills Unified School District honored its 2025 retirees on May 22 at the Legacy Courtyard of the Hawthorne campus. The celebration served not only as a farewell, but as a deep expression of gratitude for those who have devoted their careers to strengthening the fabric of our schools and community.

Surrounded by colleagues, loved ones, and district leaders, this year’s retirees were recognized for careers marked by integrity, compassion, and a steadfast belief in the power of education. Among the honored guests were employees who have served BHUSD students for more than 30 years—an extraordinary legacy of service across generations.

“Our retirees have helped shape the heart of BHUSD,” said Superintendent Dr. Alex Cherniss. “We are thankful for everything they’ve given to our schools, our students, and this community.”

The celebration was led by Board of Education President Mrs. Rachelle Marcus, Vice President Judy Manouchehri, and Governing Member Dr. Amanda Stern, who joined Dr. Cherniss in personally thanking each retiree. Their presence spoke volumes about the district’s commitment to honoring those who serve with distinction.

While the event focused on those stepping into retirement, it also underscored the strong sense of community and respect that defines BHUSD. Current staff members gathered in support, smiling, applauding, and offering heartfelt congratulations—captured in joyful moments that reflected the deep bonds formed over years of working together.

As these remarkable individuals enter the next chapter of their lives, they leave behind not just classrooms or offices, but a legacy of excellence, mentorship, and principled leadership. BHUSD extends its deepest thanks to each retiree, knowing their influence will continue to be felt in the lives of students and the culture of the district for years to come.

In an age that often overlooks long-term commitment, BHUSD proudly celebrates those who stayed the course—and changed lives.
