Horace Mann Elementary School was transformed into a festive Winter Wonderland on Tuesday, January 13, as students, families, and staff gathered for an evening of snow, music, and community celebration. The event, hosted in partnership with the Horace Mann PTA and supported by the 5th Grade Promotion Committee, brought the entire school community together for a memorable night on campus.
Throughout the evening, the campus buzzed with activity as artificial snow fell, lights glowed, and students moved between winter-themed crafts, cookie decorating stations, and game areas. Families enjoyed seasonal treats including hot cocoa, pizza, and cotton candy, while children played and connected with classmates in a relaxed, joyful setting.
“What made this night so special wasn’t just the snow or the sweets, it was the joy of seeing our community come together,” said Principal Dr. Steven Suttle. “Events like this reflect the heart of Horace Mann. You could feel the sense of connection, tradition, and Husky pride in every moment."
In addition to creating a shared experience for families, the event supported the school’s 5th Grade Promotion Committee, helping raise funds for end-of-year activities. Dozens of parent volunteers contributed their time and energy to ensure the evening was welcoming, safe, and well organized.
School leaders noted that events like Winter Wonderland play an important role in strengthening relationships across the campus community, reinforcing a sense of belonging beyond the classroom.
Guided by its motto, Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow, Horace Mann Elementary continues to emphasize not only academic growth, but also the importance of joy, connection, and shared tradition in shaping the student experience.
