These men are living witnesses to one of history’s darkest hours. Their unshakable courage, devotion to truth, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on the students privileged to hear them speak. In a world increasingly clouded by revisionism and moral ambiguity, their testimonies stood as a beacon of historical integrity and personal strength.
“This was a deeply moving experience for our students,” said BHHS Principal Drew Stewart. “It reminded us why listening to living history matters, and why we must continue to learn from the past to shape a better future.”
The event was organized with care and intention by the BHHS Jewish Club, led by student President Jillian Samadi and moderated by BHUSD parent Maytal Fattal. Their efforts reflect the maturity, leadership, and moral responsibility we hope to cultivate in every young person under BHUSD’s care.
By creating space for firsthand accounts of persecution, survival, and the fight for freedom, BHHS is upholding one of its most important duties: to educate not just minds, but hearts. These stories remind us that the lessons of the past must never be forgotten, and that the strength of our community lies in remembering, honoring, and standing firm for what is right.
As we reflect on this powerful moment, one truth rings clear: history lives when we listen. And thanks to leaders, students, and families dedicated to preserving that truth, Beverly Hills Unified continues to model the kind of education that builds both knowledge and character.
