Mayor Sharona Nazarian recently guided a tour along South Robertson Boulevard to highlight local businesses in Beverly Hills. This initiative, part of the 'Spotlight with Sharona' series, aims to boost community awareness and support for small enterprises.
In a concerted effort to support local commerce, Mayor Sharona Nazarian of Beverly Hills led a walking tour along South Robertson Boulevard, spotlighting the diverse small businesses that line the street. This event, which took place on June 4, marks the second installment of her 'Spotlight with Sharona' series, aimed at promoting local entrepreneurs and revitalizing community engagement with the area's commercial offerings.
During the tour, attendees visited several establishments including Monogrammit, Specialty Hardware & Plumbing, Lodge Bread, LaserAway, and Toppings Yogurt. Each business showcased its unique offerings, from high-end custom monogramming at Monogrammit to specialty sourdough breads at Lodge Bread. Eric Walsingham, general manager of Lodge Bread, emphasized the importance of such events for increasing local visibility.
Sometimes you go to a neighborhood that you haven't been to before, and there's a lot of hidden gems that maybe don't get amplified like they should. It's great for people to know what places are good.
Elisa Nassirzadeh, owner of Monogrammit, highlighted the significant impact of the mayor's initiative on small business owners, especially in the post-COVID-19 landscape.
As we all know, things have changed after COVID-19, and supporting and being there for small businesses speaks loud to me, since I am one of them. I am a big advocate for women small business owners, who are my heroes ... [Nazarian's initiative] will help tremendously.
Nazarian herself underscored the cyclical benefit of thriving local businesses to the community's overall prosperity and quality of life.
I believe that it's a cycle. When our businesses succeed, we succeed, and we're able to provide the services that are vital to our community ... and that, in turn, supports our quality of life.
The next 'Spotlight with Sharona' event is scheduled for July, continuing the effort to engage and uplift the Beverly Hills community by promoting its small businesses.
