Beverly Hills police closed Wilshire Boulevard at La Peer Drive on Christmas Eve following a serious motorcycle collision under investigation.

A serious motorcycle collision shut down the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and La Peer Drive in Beverly Hills on Christmas Eve, prompting police to urge the public to avoid the area while investigators worked the scene.

In an alert sent by the Beverly Hills Police Department early Wednesday afternoon, authorities said the entire intersection was closed due to an ongoing traffic accident investigation and asked drivers to seek alternate routes.

Police activity and yellow tape surrounded the intersection as officers documented the scene. A damaged motorcycle was visible in the roadway as investigators examined debris and collected evidence.

According to witnesseson  scene, the crash involved a motorcycle and a white Tesla. The motorcyclist, described as a young man believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, ran a red light before colliding with the vehicle. The account has not been confirmed by police.

The witness also said the rider lost his helmet during the impact and landed awkwardly on the pavement, appearing to strike his neck. There has been no official confirmation from authorities regarding the rider’s condition or whether he survived.

As of Wednesday evening, the Beverly Hills Police Department had not released the identity of those involved or additional details about the cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

Residents and commuters were advised to continue avoiding the area until the intersection is reopened and police conclude their investigation.
