A confrontation outside Novikov Beverly Hills drew a Beverly Hills Police Department response late Friday night after a restaurant patron allegedly displayed a firearm while being removed from the establishment.
Multiple videos published by Street People of Beverly Hills document portions of the incident outside the restaurant at 257 N. Canon Drive in the heart of the Business Triangle.
According to the account, restaurant security removed a patron who had been causing a disturbance inside Novikov. Street People of Beverly Hills reported that the confrontation escalated outside when the man displayed a firearm toward a security guard.
Additional footage published Saturday shows the security guard physically confronting and restraining the man outside the restaurant. Another video shows Beverly Hills police vehicles arriving on Canon Drive as a crowd gathers near the entrance.
Street People of Beverly Hills subsequently reported that BHPD used a non-lethal response while taking the man into custody. The account did not identify the type of less-lethal device used.
The man's identity, potential criminal charges and whether the firearm was loaded have not been publicly confirmed. It is also not yet clear whether anyone was injured during the confrontation.
Novikov Beverly Hills is an upscale restaurant located at 257 N. Canon Drive and operates late-night service on Fridays and Saturdays.
