Vice Mayor Mary Wells Endorses Judy Manouchehri for Reelection

Beverly Hills Vice Mayor Mary N. Wells, a former president of the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education, has endorsed Judy Manouchehri for reelection to the school board ahead of the November 3 election.

In a statement shared with Manouchehri's campaign, Wells pointed to their work together on the Board of Education and, more recently, her role as City Council liaison to BHUSD on the City-School District Joint Powers Agreement.

“I have worked alongside Judy Manouchehri on the Beverly Hills Board of Education and, more recently, as the City Council liaison to BHUSD on the City-School District Joint Powers Agreement. I have seen firsthand her deep commitment to our students and the future of our schools. Judy has the vision, courage and conviction to take on difficult challenges and make decisions in the best interests of our students. Her leadership and contributions deserve our recognition and appreciation.”

The statement was attributed to Wells in an endorsement graphic shared by the Manouchehri campaign. It identifies Wells as Beverly Hills Vice Mayor and former president of the BHUSD Board of Education.

Wells' endorsement draws on her experience in both city government and school district leadership, particularly her work connecting the two institutions. Her statement focuses on Manouchehri's decisions and commitment to students rather than on criticism of other candidates.

The endorsement graphic expressly states that it is not an endorsement by the City of Beverly Hills. Wells' support is presented in her individual capacity, not as an official City Council action.

The endorsement comes in the closing days of the November 3 school board election, as voters consider who will serve on the BHUSD Board of Education.
