Beverly Hills High School students will lead a Board of Education Candidate Forum on Monday, October 5, giving families and voters an opportunity to hear from candidates seeking to help shape the district's future.
The forum will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Salter Family Theatre at Beverly Hills High School. Community members are invited to attend, and KBEV, the school's student media department, will livestream the event for those watching remotely.
Organized by the school's Associated Student Body in collaboration with the BHHS Career Academy, the event continues the school's tradition of student-organized candidate forums. Students will develop the questions and facilitate the discussion, drawing on their experiences and the issues that matter to them within the school community.
Candidates will have an opportunity to explain their perspectives and priorities for the Beverly Hills Unified School District ahead of the upcoming election. For students, the discussion offers direct access to prospective board members whose decisions affect their education, campus experiences and future opportunities.
The organizing work also gives students practical experience in civic participation, preparing questions and conducting respectful public dialogue.
According to the district's announcement, the forum is intended as a nonpartisan educational event. All candidates are invited to participate, and those who attend will receive an equal opportunity to share their views.
