BHUSD Board President Judy Manouchehri Announces Re-Election Campaign

Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education President Judy Manouchehri has officially filed her candidacy for re-election in the Nov. 3 election.

Manouchehri announced her campaign on Instagram, sharing a photograph from the filing with her mother, Mimi, at her side.

“Today, I officially filed my candidacy for re-election to the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education — with my mom, Mimi, by my side,” Manouchehri wrote. “Having her there made this moment especially meaningful.”

In her announcement, Manouchehri described her family’s path to Beverly Hills. She said her parents fled their home country in the middle of the night and traveled through Pakistan and Spain before eventually settling in Beverly Hills.

Manouchehri attended BHUSD schools and served as student council president at Horace Mann and ASB president at Beverly Hills High School. She was elected to the Board of Education in 2022 and currently serves as its president.

“I grew up in these schools. I learned here, found my voice here, and as Horace Mann Student Council President and Beverly High ASB President, discovered what it means to serve a community,” Manouchehri wrote.

Manouchehri identified academic achievement, safety and security, fiscal oversight, campus modernization, construction, educator support and expanded student opportunities as priorities she has worked on during her first term.

BHUSD’s recently released inaugural edition of BHUSD Insight, titled A New Era of Excellence, documents several areas of district progress during the 2025-26 school year.

Districtwide assessment results increased by 4% in English Language Arts, 5% in mathematics and 9% in science. Applications to four-year colleges and universities increased by 37% compared with the previous graduating class, and BHUSD reported that none of its California School Dashboard indicators were rated below “Meets Standard.”

The publication also highlights expanded student programs, campus construction and modernization, and the district’s continuing work on school safety. Those results represent the combined work of students, educators, staff, administrators, families and the Board of Education.

“We have accomplished so much, but there is more work ahead,” Manouchehri wrote. “I am running for re-election because I believe deeply in BHUSD, in public education, and in the community that gave my family a place to call home.”

Two seats on the five-member BHUSD Board of Education are scheduled to appear on the November ballot. The seats are currently held by Manouchehri and Board Member Rachelle Marcus.
